I want to make candles, BUT...
Debunking 8 major myths for beginners!
We all have those thoughts: "I'd try, but..."

Especially when it comes to something creative and new, like candle making. It seems like a whole new world with its own complexities, high barriers to entry, and a ton of "don'ts." But I'm always a proponent of approaching any "unclear" rationally, breaking down each barrier step by step.

Today, I'll help you dispel the most common doubts that stop you from taking up this amazing hobby. Let's figure out the real deal!

1. "It seems too complicated and not for beginners!"
In fact: Candlemaking is a fascinating process that absolutely anyone can master. Yes, there are nuances and secrets, but that's what courses and mentors are for. The most important thing is your desire and willingness to learn new things. The first steps will be simple, and you'll quickly develop a taste for creating beauty with your own hands.
2. "Where can I get the materials? It's so specific!"
In fact: This is one of the most frequently asked questions. Fortunately, finding everything you need is much easier these days than you might think. My course already includes a verified list of stores and links to suppliers in different countries where you can find high-quality ingredients. If your country isn't on the list, we'll be sure to help you choose and find the right materials!
3. "What if it's really expensive?"
In fact: Not at all! Making your first candles and learning how to enjoy the process doesn't require a huge investment. The initial purchase of basic materials (wax, wicks, fragrances, small molds) costs on average around 6,000 rubles (approximately $75). This amount is enough to get a confident start and create a few test candles.
4. "I don't even have the equipment! Do I have to buy a lot of stuff?"
In fact: You don't need it! I teach my own technique, which doesn't require expensive or specialized equipment. Most of what you'll need is likely already in your home (like a saucepan or thermometer) or easily acquired for little to no money.
5. "What if I don't succeed?"
In fact: It will work! Your very first candle might not be perfect, and that's perfectly okay! It's part of learning and growth. The important thing is your first step, your experience creating something new. Look at my students' first works – they also started from scratch, and each one achieved their own unique, beautiful result. The most valuable thing is the process of creation and the joy of each new experiment!
6. "Is this just a hobby or can you make money from candles?"
In fact: Candlemaking isn't just a wonderful hobby; it's also a great way to earn money! Many of my students started making candles "for fun," and then, once they felt confident in their abilities and the quality of their products, they easily turned their passion into a stable source of income. Demand for beautiful, exclusive handmade items is always high. Start for yourself, and when you feel confident, sell your first candle!
7. "The candles burn quickly, no one will buy them?"
In fact: This is a common misconception! Candles burn differently depending on their assembly, size, wax, and wick. Burn time can range from 60 minutes (for very small or shaped candles) to over 30 hours (for larger candles). Exclusive designer candles are not only a source of light, but also a decorative element, part of an aromatherapy ritual, and a wonderful gift, which is why they are valued and purchased.
8. "What if all efforts are in vain?"
In fact: It's not wasted! Even if you make just one candle, it will be an invaluable experience. It's a moment of pure creativity, created with your own hands. It's tranquility, meditation, and the joy of creating something new. No moment spent creating is ever wasted! It is always an investment in yourself and your inner harmony.
See? Most of your "buts..." are actually just shadows that can be easily dispelled. Candlemaking is an amazing journey, full of discovery, aromas, and beauty, accessible to everyone. Don't let doubts stop you on the threshold of a new hobby or even your life's work!
